Royal Malewane is The Royal Portfolio’s luxury safari collection in Thornybush Nature Reserve, a 15,000-hectare private nature reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. Guests will experience the wild heart of the African bush in comfort, style and seclusion.  Each lodge, individually designed and created for couples, friends and families looking for solitude, relaxation, and to connect with nature and the wild. Royal Malewane’s guiding team is considered the most qualified in Africa, with over 350 years of combined bush experience and top-level FGASA certifications. There are four luxury lodges at Royal Malewane. Malewane Lodge was the first to open in 1999, transformed from the Biden family’s bush home into a luxury lodge. It reflects owner Liz Biden’s desire to share the bush with others. It’s a classic and traditional lodge, brimming with old-world elegance and timeless luxury. Farmstead is a contemporary-style lodge that's stylish and comfortable, and it’s the more private and intimate lodge in the collection, featuring three luxury suites.  Waterside is modern and combines thatch, glass and steel. It’s a spacious, family-friendly sanctuary and brings a splash of color to the banks of the bustling waterhole. Masiya’s Camp takes beige out of safari with its unique, bold pink canvas. This exclusive experience under canvas offers ultra-modern style with comfort and bold colors, it includes six luxury tented suites.  For ultimate privacy and for multi-generational families and friends to enjoy the bush, Royal Malewane has created three exclusive-use private villas: Africa House, Waterside House, and Farmhouse.

Each suite accommodates two guests and features a private wooden deck, rim-flow pool and a thatched outdoor sala. The main room contains a fireplace, beautiful dark wooden furniture and a canopied kingsize bed. The Luxury Suites are 165m2 (1,780ft2) including the private deck and plunge pool. Four of the six suites have four-poster, king size beds, whilst the remaining two suites can be made into twin beds.

Each Royal Suite accommodates up to four guests in two spacious en-suite bedrooms, positioned on either side of the central living and dining area. One bedroom features a four-poster, king-size bed, while the second bedroom has a king-size bed that can be converted into twin beds. The Royal Suites are 510 m² (5,490 ft²), including the private deck and plunge pool. Royal Suites offer private services, including a private chef, host, and a private safari vehicle with a Guide and Tracker. Children of all ages are welcome in the Royal Suites.

Step into the central courtyard of Africa House and discover a unique world where elegance and quirkiness combine to create a private bushveld paradise. The generous spaces, fearless use of colour, and quiet, relaxing corners for reading, writing, or daydreaming combine with the exotic furniture and artworks to suggest that here, anything is possible. Slip into the infinity pool on the main deck for the ultimate vantage point over the river below, and watch as wildlife comes to drink, entirely unperturbed by your presence. The furniture, fittings, and artworks in Africa House are the result of Liz Biden’s extensive travels and reflect her unique eye for detail and magpie-like imagination. The watchwords are colour and comfort, and the result is a thrilling, tactile blend of the faraway and the contemporary. Africa House has a total floorspace of 1,448 m² (15,583 ft²) and features six suites, each with private outdoor showers opening onto a private deck. The villa includes four luxury double suites, each with king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms, along with two king luxury suites (which can convert to twin), also with en-suite bathrooms. Children of all ages are welcome at Africa House, which is a two-minute drive from Malewane Lodge. Africa House also features private services, including a private chef, host, and private safari vehicle with a Guide and Tracker.

The Luxury Farm Suites are either side of a central lodge area where you can enjoy your meals in an elegant and comfortable space. After dinner, relax around the firepit and reflect on the day’s adventures. There is also a double spa treatment room offering a variety of revitalising treatments as well as a gym. Each Luxury Farm Suite has a spacious bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower, as well as an outdoor shower. There are large front and back verandahs, plus a beautiful deck and a private pool overlooking the bush where inquisitive wildlife might pay a visit. Each Luxury Farm Suite is 182m² (1,960f²) including front and back verandahs and deck. Children over 10 years old are welcome in the Luxury Farm Suites.

Farmhouse is a four-bedroom private villa, ideal for families or a group of friends. Guests will have their own private safari vehicle, with a dedicated Guide and Tracker, ensuring a personalized luxury experience. There are three main bedrooms, each 54 m² (581 ft²) in size, as well as a slightly smaller room, perfect for children, which measures 31 m² (330 ft²). There is a magnificent deck with a large swimming pool extending out into the bush, bringing the total area of Farmhouse to 636 m² (6,845 ft²). Children of all ages are welcome. Farmhouse includes private services: a private chef, host, and private safari vehicle with a Guide and Tracker.

Waterside has four One-Bedroom Luxury Suites. The extravagant size of these suites makes space the ultimate indulgence. Each measures 155 m² (1,668 ft²) and includes a private deck, outdoor sala, and plunge pool. Inside, there’s a spacious en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath and both indoor and outdoor showers. Rooms can be configured with either twin or king-size beds. Children of all ages are welcome in the Luxury Suites if a private vehicle is booked, subject to availability.
